Most of the couples go for surrogacy when all the traditional means, including In Vitro Fertilization fails. In these cases, it becomes very dangerous for a couple to conceive and give birth to a baby. Surrogacy is a procedure in which a woman gives birth to a child and give to the couple who can’t conceive.
Surrogacy in India is a procedure in which a woman who carries someone’s baby, becomes pregnant and give birth to a child. After birth, the baby is given to their parents.
Various reasons are there which does not allow a woman to conceive.
Absence or removal of womb.
Repeated failure of IVF.
Infection in the womb.
Other conditions such as heart diseases.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) surrogacy: - IVF surrogacy is a treatment procedure which gathers eggs from women, combine with the sperm from father and then place the embryo in the uterus of surrogate mother. The surrogate mother carries the baby till birth and after birth, gives the baby to the couple.
Types of surrogacy: - There are basically two types of surrogacy.
Traditional surrogacy: - It is a procedure in which a surrogate mother gets pregnant with the semen of intended parent or any sperm donor. This type is rarely used in conceiving a baby.
Gestational surrogacy: - In this type of surrogacy, a surrogate woman gets pregnant, which a woman gets pregnant through IVF technology, in which her own eggs or donor eggs are combined with father’s or donor sperm and then the developed embryos are placed in the woman’s uterus.
It is the process in which child will not have any connection with the surrogate mother. This is the reason, why a lot of people are opting gestational surrogacy.
